The Women of the American Legion Auxiliary
We are a remarkable organization of dedicated women across the state and country, devoted to our veterans, young people and communities.
The women of the American Legion Auxiliary make a difference in the lives of all Veterans and their families. We educate children, organize community events and help our nation's veterans through legislative action and volunteerism. The American Legion Auxiliary is the world's largest women's patriotic service organization with nearly 750,000 members. Auxiliary members are a unique group of women, joined in the fellowship of volunteerism, patriotism and dedication to veterans, young people and communities.
We invite you inside to learn more about our programs and meet our members. Contact us if you have questions or would like to learn more about our organization.

The Women of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 62
With just over 700 members, Unit 62 is among the largest Auxiliary units in Arizona. They are a fun group of volunteers dedicated to supporting local active duty personnel, local veterans and their families.
Described as the "sugar in the rhubarb pie, the thread in the garment, a gentle touch in a too fast world", Unit 62 quietly works to support its community throughout the year.
This past school year, Unit 62 visited local schools to teach children about patriotism. Twice a year, they host a luncheon for sight impaired lady veterans. Annually, they host a holiday party for Luke Air Force Base children of a deployed parent. Gifts, SAL Josh Dogs, Santa, crafts, petting zoo, pony rides, a live bald eagle have all been part of this much anticipated American Legion Family event. They donate thousands of dollars to local food banks, boy scouts, and other local organizations. Unit 62 has an active Junior program.Their young ladies raised over $2,000 for charitable organizations helping children and families.
Unit 62 actively seeks partnerships with outside organizations. This past fall, in partnership with Chick Fil A in Arrowhead, Unit 62 donated more than $3000 to Fisher House-a home away from home for families of veterans
seeking health care in Tucson. Together with The Peoria Sports Complex, they hosted a 2016 Spring Training game honoring veterans. Unit 62 worked with the local Paint Nite franchise owner to conduct a Paint Nite event for spouses of deployed Luke AFB airman.Unit 62 is honored to have Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat as a member of its American Legion Auxiliary Unit.
