Membership Dues Increase: National is raising their per-capita dues by $5 starting for the 2025 membership year. The last increase was in 2015 and 2005 before that. This is the money they take from each membership dues paid at Post 62 to prevent National Headquarters from having to cut programs and services. This means our annual dues will increase to $50 on 1 July 2024 for the 2025 membership year. This applies only to Legion/Rider members; NOT to Auxiliary or SON's.

However, there are two options for you to consider if you choose before 1 July 2024 (I would ask that you consider this by at least 15 June 2024 to allow for National to process this):

Option # 1 - New Pilot Program for Membership: National is offering the purchase of three consecutive 12-month membership terms at our current dues rate of $45; total cost of $135 (vs $150 with the new increase in membership). You would go to legion.org/renew and renew for the 3-years. Again, you must choose this option before 1 July (or earlier) to get the $45 per year cost.
Question: Can you renew for multiples of 3-yrs (example: 25-26-27, and 28-29-30?) No, National is not offering this option at this time.
Can you renew for 3-years through Post 62?  No. National has to handle these monies in much the same way they handle PUFL memberships, so these renewals must go through the members MyLegion account only.
How will I get my card (like PUFL)? The person handing membership will need to run a PUFL report when he gets the 2025 cards, then pull out and mail the pre-paid card to members as if it were a PUFL.

Option # 2 - Paid-Up-For Life (PUFL): Again, you go to www.legion.org/renew, and it will make you an offer to pay your membership for life. And, you can pay it off over 12 months. However, PUFL isn’t for everyone as it is somewhat expensive up front. Check the cost they offer you 1st. Then consider the amount of years you want to be a member (or plan to live…) and divide by $45.
